According to government sources, Mitsotakis and Gennimata don’t care about the nation’s interests

“After the amendments tabled in their parliament by Albanian deputies in FYROM, through which they ask that the country’s constitutional law clarify something that is already provided for under the Prespes Agreement, namely that it does not designate or assume ethnicity but only nationality, [main opposition New Democracy leader Kyriakos] Mitsotakis‘ last argument collapses spectacularly,” said government sources on Wednesday.

“We expect that Mitsotakis and [Movement for Change (KINAL) leader Fofi] Gennimata, who refer to an alleged recognition of Macedonian ethnicity as an alibi for voting against the Prespes Agreement, to finally tell the Greek people the truth. That they don’t care about the nation’s interests and that their only reason for opposing the Prespes Agreement is that they hope for one last chance to trigger political developments. Their efforts are in vain!” said the same sources.
