A new competition for gymnastics, the World Outdoor Gymnastic Gala (WOGG), will premiere in Athens on July 7, 2019 at the Panathenaic Stadium, the venue of the first Modern Olympic Games.
Champions and great gymnasts will perform at the Stadium and the Greek audience will have the opportunity to watch and take part at the interactive event and declare the winners. This is one of the many innovations introduced by WOGG which wishes to bring the sport closer to people in order to understand it in detail and finally embrace it.
All gymnastics events will be represented at the Gala: artistic and rythmic gymnastics, the tramboline as well as parkour, which is now part of the Gymnastics Federation.
The competition was presented at a press conference on Thursday in the presence of Culture and Sports Deputy Minister Giorgos Vassiliadis.
