The disposable income of Greek households and non-profit institutions serving households (NPISH) increased by 1.3 billion euros to reach 115.5 billion euros in 2017, up 1.1 pct compared with the previous year (114.2 billion euros), the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) said in its annual non-financial sector accounts report on Friday.
The final consumption expenditure of households and NPISH was increased by 1.4 pct in 2017 compared with 2016, from 122.1 billion euro to 123.8 billion euro.
The evolution of the saving rate of Households and NPISH, defined as gross savings divided by gross disposable income was -7.2 pct in 2017 compared with -6.9 pct in 2016. The gross investment rate of sector was 16.9 pct in 2017 compared with 17.8 pct in 2016.
Exports of goods and services reached 59.5 billion euros in 2017 from 53.1 billion euros in 2016 and imports of goods and services reached 61.3 billion euros from 54.3 billion euros in 2016. As a result, in 2017 the external balance of goods and services recorded a deficit of 1.8 billion euro compared with a deficit of 1.3 billion euro recorded in 2016.
