A conference on “Climate Change. Urban Environment” will take place in the northern Greek city of Katerini this weekend, organised by the Hellenic Network of Ecological Organisations representing over 40 environmental organisations in Greece.
“We want to highlight the repercussions of climate change on our everyday lives and to urge local authorities and the citizens to take action,” network member Nikos Aslanoglou told the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA).
According to the organisers, “the responsible ministries, municipalities, regions and agencies can and should draft programmes to address climate change that can be acted on immediately, not theoretically but practically, while ordinary citizens must also contribute to fighting climate change.”
The conference starts on Friday and will conclude on Sunday.
