The President of the Republic Prokopios Pavlopoulos declared the start of the 4th International Summer University entitled “Greek Language, Culture and Means of Communication – from the literature of Ancient Greece to the present day,” in Ermoupolis, Syros.

During his speech, Pavlopoulos referred to the great influence of the ancient Greek thought on contemporary science, analyzing the evolution of epistemology from the Presocratic philosophers to the present day.

In particular, the President of the Republic stressed that one of the most reliable ways to diagnose the course of scientific progress as a process of constantly promoting the method of converting information to knowledge and knowledge into “wisdom” is to follow the conclusions of the corresponding epistemological developments.
