Alcohol: How long does its effect last on your skin?

According to the official guidelines, women should not exceed the consumption of 14 units of alcohol on a weekly basis, ie over 2 drinks a day. Many women, however, consume such quantities only in one evening during the holiday season.

This quantity corresponds to 6 glasses of 175ml wine or seven double toned gin.

Skincare specialists have found that while the hangover can recede after 24 hours, the effects on the skin of a 40 year old woman may last up to 28 days!

For men things seem to be different, but they also need at least a week for their skin to come back to normal after one night of over-consumption of alcohol.
