Shipping company offers cruiseship to flood stricken

The company Optimum Ship Management Services has offered the cruiseship “Aegean Queen” to temporarily house residents of Mandra, Elefsina and Megara that were left homeless by the flooding in the area, the shipping ministry announced on Thursday.

Shipping Minister Panagiotis Kouroumblis has contacted the company and the mayors of the flood-stricken towns have been informed of this initiative.

The cruiseship has offered 364 cabins and can host up to 914 people.
