“Our cooperation is beneficial for all” said Kotzias in the 2nd Minesterial Meeting

Nikos Kotzias, the Minister of Foreign Affairs, underlined the importance of the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of Greece, Albania, Bulgaria and FYROM in his opening speech. Highlighting the benefits and advantages of the regional cooperation of the four countries, he affirmed that it’s substantial for Greece’s policy to create and form strong connections across the Balkan region.

Nikos Kotzias elaborated on certain discussions that the ministers had the previous night, focusing on the European perspective of the region and the issues that shall be resolved based on their cooperation and the issues that shall be addressed on their next meeting. He claimed that their cooperation in the energy sector is crucial since the region is a transit route for new gas pipelines; as such cross-border cooperation is important.

During his opening speech in Hyatt hotel, he called the three ministers to attend the 3rd Rhodes Meeting, and also the “Conference on the Protection of Religious and Cultural Communities in the Middle East”, which mainly addresses issues related to the victims of the ongoing conflicts in the region of Middle East.

The exact conclusions of the 2nd Ministerial Meeting will be announced, during the planned press conference.
