Vietnam opens Consulate in Thessaloniki

The establishment of Vietnam’s Consulate in Thessaloniki with businessman Vassilios Konstantinidis as Honourary Consul was announced at an event held on Thursday evening.

In their brief addresses, the ambassador of Vietnam to Greece Tran Thi Ha Phuong and honorary consul Konstantinidis referred to the steady developing, in the last decade, relations between the two countries and underlined the prospects for further enhancement particularly in the sector of tourism.

Referring to the targets of the newly founded consulate in Thessaloniki, they pointed out that it aims to the development of the trade, business and cultural relations between Thessaloniki and northern Greece in general with Vietnam.

Greece and Vietnam established diplomatic relations in 1975 and the Greek Embassy in Hanoi opened in 2007 while the Embassy of Vietnam in Greece started its operation in 2010.
