Foreign Ministry expresses condolences over bridge collapse in Genoa

The Greek Foreign Ministry expressed its “profound shock” and condolences for the victims of the collapse of the freeway bridge in Genoa, Italy, on Tuesday.

At least 22 people died in the collapse.

In a Twitter posting in Greek, English and Italian, the Foreign Ministry said, “Profoundly shocked by the immense tragedy of #PonteMorandi collapse in #Genoa.

We express our most sincere condolences to the bereaved families and loved ones & we stand in full solidarity w/ the Italian people and its gov. at this difficult time @ItalyMFA @ItalyinGreece”.
