Teachers protest in Athens against Education Ministry’s draft law

A teachers’ rally protesting the Education Ministry’s draft law on the new appointment system is currently underway in Athens.

The draft law is scheduled to be put to vote on Thursday in parliament and the protestors demand the withdrawal of the draft law along with the hirings of all the substitute teachers in schools.

In parallel, the civil servants umbrella union ADEDY, the Greek Teachers Federation (DOE) and the Greek Federation of Secondary Education State School Teachers (OLME) are holding a rally at the Greek parliament while ADEDY and DOE have declared a 24h strike on Thursday.
