Yiannis Dragasakis: Talking about catastrophes not helping current conditions
Greece has a peculiar form of capitalism made up of businesses that obey the laws and rules, in a socially responsible manner, while others operate in a way that are more like parasites, said Government Vice President and Development Minister Yiannis Dragasakis on Friday.
Speaking at presentation of a report on the Competitions Committee by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development, Dragasakis said that we must all, including the Competitions Committee, contribute to upgrading checks with the goal of securing corporate responsibility and reduce these cases.
Dragasakis went on to add that it is important for Greece that the long period of bailouts has finished but we should remain realistic as the problems and challenges ahead are significant. In this environment, he added, the tendency of talking about catastrophes does not help, without looking at the changing conditions and the possibilities to overcome the problem.
