Interior Minister Panos Skourletis met on Friday with representatives of the Association for Transgender People to discuss issues related to their rights and identity declaration on official documents.
The association was represented by Marina Galanou, Anna Aperghi and Efi Kassiou.
Some of the issues raised by the delegation included the need for legal clarification on gender identity descriptors, fighting discrimination in the public sector or exclusion from work, and the legal framework for people who work as prostitutes.
Skourletis said that issues related to rights are important for both the government and the ministry, and the effort to expand these rights is consistent and constant. He also agreed to continue meetings in order to discuss all issues related to the ministry.
