Commissioner’s spokesperson: Hahn at no time referred to change in Greek-Albanian borders

European Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Negotiations Commissioner Johannes Hahn had at no time referred to a “change of borders” between Greece and Albania, a spokesperson for the EU Commissioner clarified on Wednesday, regarding Hahn’s comments in London the previous day.

Talking to the Athens-Macedonian News Agency (ANA), the spokesperson said that Hahn had been talking about the necessity of resolving all outstanding bilateral issues before any future EU enlargement and had mentioned the ongoing Greek-Albanian discussions to delineate an exclusive economic zone, which can only be concluded on the basis of a mutually acceptable agreement.
