Christos Spirtzis signs MoU with European Aviation Safety Agency

Greece signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) at the headquarters of the European Commission in Brussels on Friday that will enable it to draw on technical assistance as it restructures its Civil Aviation Agency (CYA).

Signing on behalf of Greece was Transport Minister Christos Spirtzis and for EASA its executive director Patrick Ky. EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc was also present.

According to a press statement by the Greek ministry, Spirtzis said that “the ministry will use EASA as a technical consultant” as it restructures CYA by splitting it into the Civil Aviation Agency (the regulator) and the Civil Aviation Service (developer and manager of services).
