Parliament inaugurated its new, electronic voting system on Monday during a plenary meeting on lifting the immunity of two deputies.
The deputies pressed one of four buttons -corresponding to Yes, No, Present, and Blank votes- and saw the final tally of votes on electronic boards above the presidium.
Deputies voted to lift immunity for main opposition New Democracy Deputy Anna-Michelle Asimakopoulou and for extreme-right Golden Dawn Deputy Constantinos Barbaroussis, over different cases.
Asimakopoulou requested that her immunity be lifted so that her name be cleared over staff payment issues while she was municipal councelor in Ioannina, her home city.
Barbaroussis is being accused of alleged physical violence during an incident in Athens.
