Five Greek beaches among Europe’s top 15 list for 2017

According to the European Best Destinations website, five beautiful Greek beaches were voted by travelers from all around the world, as Europe’s top 15 for the year of 2017.

  • Canal d’ Amour in Sidari.

”Canal d ‘Amour” or “Love Canal” is placed second in the list. It is a beach of exceptional beauty, located in a traditional village of Corfu in Sidari, which is located in the northern Corfu, 32 km away from the city.
It is one of the most popular resorts in the Ionian Sea and has gained worldwide reputation due to its crystal blue waters.

  • Porto Timoni Beach

Porto Timoni Beach is placed third and it is located near Agios Georgios, in the island of Corfu. It is among the most beautiful beaches of the island, however not easily accessible by land. Its waters are clear and with an amazing shade of blue, while the beach is covered with pebbles.

  • Seychelles Beach in Ikaria Island

Seychelles Beach is ranked 11th in the list. It is one of Ikaria’s most beautiful beaches. There are rock formations all around and the color of the crystal clear water is just amazing.. Seychelles Beach is located approximately 25 km west of Agios Kirikos. The access to the beach is not so easy, however it is worth visiting it.

  • Simos Beach on Elafonisos Island

Simos Beach on Elafonisos Island is placed 13th and it is the most famous beach of Elafonisos. It is located only 50m from the Camping area, and it so well-known thanks to its crystal blue waters. Visit Simos Beach and enjoy both sun and sea in this little paradise in Greece.

  • Xi Beach Kefalonia Island

On the 14th place sits Xi Beach in Kefalonia. Xi beach is situated about 40 km away from Argostoli and 10 km away from Lixouri. It is certainly one of the most famous beaches in Kefalonia and in the world, as well. It has several white rocky hills that surround the beach and clear, shallow waters. Finally, the beach is well-organized with straw umbrellas and sunbeds, as well.
