Greece wins gold in women’s beach handball world championship

Greece’s national team beat rivals Norway in the final of the 2018 women’s beach handball world championship held in Kazan, Russia on Sunday, to win its first-ever world championship title. Greece prevailed with a score of 2-1 (18-14, 15-24, 5-2) to climb to the top of the rankings and win the gold.

This means that Greece, which participated in a world championship tournament for the first time, will automatically qualify for the World Games to be held in the summer of 2019 in San Diego, United States.
