Maria Sakkari rises to the 50th place of the WTA Rankings

Maria Sakkari rose to the 50th place of the WTA Rankings, with 1.119 points confirming the impressive appearances of the past few months.

We remind that Sakkari was at the 80th place and her impressive 30-places jump, is due to her progress to the semi-finals at the ”Wuhan Open” tournament in China.

The 22-year-old Greek tennis player lost against the top Caroline Garcia, no. 15 in the world, with 6-3, 6-2 sets in the semifinals, however, she managed to enter in the top 50 of the world. On the contrary, Valentina Grammatikopoulou, dropped two places in the world’s No. 208, with 260 points. The Spanish, Garbine Muguruza remained at the top of the rankings, while Simona Halep remains in the second place.
