Museums and archaeological sites to open for 2018 full moon events this weekend

In accordance with a tradition first established in 2002 to celebrate the August full moon, Greece’s culture ministry will be opening 132 archaeological sites and museums throughout the country and offering night-time tours to the public over the weekend, with a programme of 95 events that peaks on Sunday and is completed on Monday.

The full programme includes open air musical concerts, poetry nights, star (and moon) gazing, theatrical performance, exhibitions, dance, film screenings and more, while an additional 37 sites and museums will stay open until midnight without special events taking place.

Entry to all sites is free of charge and the full programme is available in Greek and English at the culture ministry website https://www.culture.gr/el/Information/SitePages/view.aspx?nID=2326
