”Athens Jewelry Week” in the Benaki Museum

For second consecutive year the ”Athens Jewelry Week” event opens its doors from the 18th to the 21st of May in order to present to the Greek public the diversity, wealth and trends of modern artistic jewellery made not only in Greece but also abroad.

The central exhibition titled «Tέχνη + Κόσμημα: Τεμνόμενοι Χώροι» (Art + Jewel: Stranded Areas) is hosted this year by the Benaki Museum of Piraeus and has secured the participation of 48 selected artists of contemporary jewellery from Greece and abroad. Also this year the important German artist Peter Bauhuis honors the event as a guest artist, and exhibits his work at the central exhibition.

Besides, the event includes 5 group exhibitions in various city venues, lectures and seminars ,while the ”Athens Jewelry Week 2017” will be completed with prizes of the jury, which is comprised of internationally renowned artists.
