Students rally for Grigoropoulos concluded; more rallies in evening

Ten persons were taken in for questioning over the clashes that took place on Thursday afternoon during a rally for the 10th anniversary of the murder of 15-year old Alexis Grigoropoulos by a police officer in Athens.

The suspects had allegedly thrown firebombs and stones against riot police, who responded by throwing with chemicals.

Meanwhile, the student rally held on Thursday morning in Grigoropoulos’ memory was concluded.

Additional rallies in the memory of Grigoropoulos are going to be held at downtown Athens at 18:00 on Thursday while at 21:00 a rally will take place at the site of Grigoropoulos’ murder in Exarhia.
