Thessaloniki man arrested for killing stray dog with shotgun

A 59-year-old man from Giannitsa, west of Thessaloniki, has been arrested for inflicting fatal injuries on a stray dog with a shotgun. The man was arrested by police from the Ambelokipi-Menemeni police station on Monday for violating laws on the protection of owned and stray pet animals.

The charges against him include that of violating weapons laws since the 59-year-old allegedly lacked a licence to own a shotgun. He will be led before a Thessaloniki misdemeanours court public prosecutor.
