Personnel of regional ports continue to abstain from weekend work

Workers at regional Greek ports are staying away from work for the fourth weekend in a row, to demand a collective work agreement for 2018.

The action affects Saturday and Sunday shifts at the ports of Alexandroupoli, Corfu, Elefsina, Evia, Igoumenitsa, Iraklio, Kavala, Patras, Rafina and Volos.

In an announcement on Friday, the Federation of Greek Port Staff (OMYLE) called Labor Minister Efi Achtsioglou to intervene. “The ports are not shut down by their employees, they are shut down by the government through its refusal to sing a collective work agreement.”
