Greece among European countries that had ‘superdry’ October, NOAA reports

Greece was among the European countries that experienced an exceptionally dry October with low rainfall in 2018, according to monthly precipitation figures released by the the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) for various parts of the world.

The statistics, which track the deviation from normal values, found that Greece was among the areas of Europe that received less than 50 pct of normal rain for the season. The figures were reproduced on Wednesday by meteo.gr, the National Observatory of Athens weather service.

Several parts of North and Central Europe are experiencing a serious drought that began last spring and has caused record low water levels in several rivers, including the Rhine in Germany.
