10,420 pharmacies operated in Greece in 2017

A total of 10,420 pharmacies operated in Greece in 2017, of which 3,722 (35.7 pct) in the Attica region, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Wednesday.

The statistics service, in a report, said this number was 0.3 pct higher compared with the previous year, with Central Macedonia (1.2 pct) and Crete (2.8 pct) recording the biggest percentage increases, while Attica (-0.4 pct) the biggest percentage decline. These pharmacies employed 11,251 workers.
