Thessaloniki municipality launches online rescue dog adoption service

The municipality of Thermi in Thessaloniki has enlisted the aid of the internet and the social media to help in the adoption of rescued strays, setting up a website where people can see the animals seeking a home and a family of their own.

The service, which includes photographs and a complete description of each animal, was set up in collaboration with the Animal Protection and Welfare Society ‘Animal Rescue’ org and allows potential pet owners to select the animal they want to adopt online. They can then contact the municipality service and arrangements are made for the pets to be delivered fully vaccinated, spayed and fitted with a microchip, along with an adoption certificate.

The animals can be viewed at the link and interested parties can then call the phone line 2396330032.
