Olympic Day Run on 22 June in Thessaloniki

The Olympic Museum-Protergia in Thessaloniki sent an open invitation to citizens to actively participate in the celebrations of the World Olympic Day by taking part in the 1st Olympic Day Run together with Olympic champions, Paralympic champions and other athletes.

The 5km race will be held on Friday 22 June in Thessaloniki and is organised by the museum in cooperation with the Hellenic Olympic Committee and the National Olympic Academy under the auspices of the International Olympic Committee, the Greek National Committee of UNESCO, the Interior Ministry and other Greek agencies.

The Olympic Day Run will promote the IOC slogan “Move, Learn, Discover” by urging young and older people to experience a exciting Olympic experience.

The race will start in front of the Olympic Museum-Protergia and will run through the streets of the city to the waterfront. It will conclude at the Thessaloniki City Hall, where the race’s end that will signal the start of an open cultural event.

Registration is online only and until Wednesday (13 June), and in person at the Olympic Museum-Protergia from 10:00 until 22:00 on 20 June as well.
