Armed Forces refugee facilities continue to feel the strain

The facilities run by the Armed Forces on the islands of Kos, Lesvos and Samos accommodate an excessively high number of refugees/migrants.

As announced by the Hellenic National Defence General Staff (GEETHA) on Friday, the number of refugees staying at the 30 facilities it runs rose by 254 to 27,437 last Thursday.

The three branches of the Armed Forces provided 15,085 servings of food, of which 514 portions went to refugee centers not run by them. For the health care of refugees, the Armed Forces also provide medical and nursing staff.
