My Market stores in Attica closed on Wednesday from 15:00-17:00 for Sklavenitis funeral

All stores of the My Market supermarket chain in Attica will be closed from 15:00 until 17:00 on Wednesday, during the funeral of Stelios Sklavenitis, one of the owners of the Sklavenitis Supermarket chain.

An announcement on Tuesday issued by Metro, the group that owns My Market, said that “as a Greek company we have chosen that our stores in Attica shall be shut between 15:00-17:00 tomorrow as a sign of respect and to honour the memory of this worthy man and entrepreneur but also in the framework of morality that demands that we do not exploit in any way, on a commercial level, the closure of the Sklavenitis chain of stores at the same time.”

Stelios Sklavenitis died in hospital on Monday after contracting Type B influenza, which triggered Acute Respiratory Distress Syndrome (ARDS) and his death through multiple organ failure.
