Greek exports up 16.3 pct in November

Greek exports grew 16.3 pct in November last year, but the country’s trade deficit continued growing by 5.7 pct in the month for an increase of 1.6 pct in the January-November period, Hellenic Statistical Authority said on Wednesday.

The statistics service, in a monthly report, said that the value of imports totaled 4.591 billion euros in November from 4.081 billion in November 2017, for an increase of 12.5 pct (excluding oil production the value of imports fell 2.3 pct while excluding oil products and ships imports it grew 1.0 pct). The value of exports totaled 3.043 billion euros in November, up 16.3 pct, (excluding oil products exports rose 9.5 pct while excluding oil products and ships they rose 10.1 pct).

The country’s trade deficit totaled 1.548 billion euros in November, up 5.7 pct from November 2017 (excluding oil products the trade deficit grew 16.3 pct and excluding oil products and ships it fell 10.8 pct).

In the January-November 2018, the value of imports totaled 51.036 billion euros, up 10.7 pct from the same period in 2017 (excluding oil products imports it rose 3.4 pct and excluding oil products and ships imports it rose 8.8 pct).

The value of exports totaled 30.856 billion euros in the 11-month period, up 17.6 pct from the same period in 2017 (excluding oil products exports it rose 11.7 pct while excluding oil products and ships exports it rose 11.5 pct).

The country’s trade deficit totaled 20.181 billion euros in the January-November period, up 1.6 pct from 2017 (excluding oil products the trade deficit fell 5.3 pct and excluding oil products and ships the trade deficit rose 5.4 pct).
