Greek stocks end flat

Greek stocks ended flat in the Athens Stock Exchange on Wednesday as the market was unable to hold on to its initial gains. Folli Follie’s shares rose 8.19 pct.

The general index of the market rose 0.09 pct to end at 818.67 points, off the day’s highs of 827.79 points. The Large Cap index eased 0.15 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 0.36 pct higher. Turnover was a low 60.068 million euros in volume of 45,935,783 shares. Folli Follie (8.19 pct), PPC (3.49 pct) and Titan (1.64 pct) scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Hellenic Petroleum (1.99 pct), Mytilineos (1.90 pct) and Coca Cola HBC (1.82 pct) suffered losses. Among market sectors, Commerce (7.84 pct) and Telecoms (1.41 pct) scored gains, while Raw Materials (1.84 pct) and Food (1.79 pct) suffered losses. National Bank and Eurobank were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 62 to 52 with another 26 issues unchanged. Domiki Crete (18.89 pct), G.E.Dimitriou (18.18 pct) and Varvaresos (16.67 pct) were top gainers, while Leventeris (20.14 pct), Livanis Publications (20 pct) and Sato (19.51 pct) were top losers.
