National Bank examines strategic options for its activities in Romania

National Bank of Greece on Monday said that a decision by Romanian authorities to block the purchase of Banca Romaneasca by OTP Bank Romania was not affecting the business activity and operation of BROM.

In an announcement, National Bank said BROM continued to focus on covering the needs of its customers, maintaining profitability levels and a strong capital base in the framework of steady support by National Bank Group. It added that National Bank was examining various strategic options for its activities in Romania in the framework of a restructuring plan.

Credit Suisse International acts as the exclusive financial advisor of National Bank, Freshfields Bruckhas Deringer as international legal advisor and PeliFilip as local legal advisor to National Bank.
