Greek stocks end higher

Greek stocks ended slightly higher for the seventh consecutive session in the Athens Stock Exchange on Thursday, with the main index moving above the 790 point mark.

The general index of the market rose 0.43 pct to end at 793.12 points. The Large Cap index rose 0.24 pct and the Mid Cap index ended 0.30 pct higher. Turnover was at 105.985 million euros in a volume of 59,136,472 shares.

Folli Follie (+3.50 pct), Hellenic Exchanges (+3.01 pct), Grivalia Properties (+2.16 pct) and ELPE (+2.00 pct), scored big gains among blue chip stocks, while Coca Cola HBC (-1.18 pct), PPC (-1.08 pct), and ADMIE (-1.03 pct) suffered losses. Among market sectors, Trade (+3.44 pct), Financial Servivces (+2.27 pct) and Technology (+2.02 pct) scored big gains, while Health (-4.39 pct) and Food and Beverages (-1.17 pct) suffered losses.

National Bank and Lamda Development were the most heavily traded securities of the day. Broadly, advancers led decliners by 53 to 46 with another 37 issues unchanged. Mathios (+26.02 pct), SATO (+20.00 pct), Donic (+19.62 pct) and KREKA (+18.66 pct) were top gainers, while Nafpaktos Textile (-17.09 pct), AEGEK (-12.50 pct), ELVE (-8.28 pct) and Newsphone Hellas (-8.00 pct).
